"The Road Not Taken" By Robert Frost

Robert Frost was born in San Francisco. For a short time he attended Harvard University. Later in 11, he moved to England. He published his first book of poetry in 11. He later died in 16. "The Road Not Taken" was published in 116. "It is one of many of his well known poems. 'The Road Not Taken' is set in a rural natural environment which encourages the speaker bound introspection. The poem relies on a metaphor in which the journey on a road." (Napierkowski, Ruby, 14) In "The Road Not Taken," Robert Frost uses imagery, tone, and rhyming patterns to illustrate the limitations of choice.

Various forms of imagery are within the poem to illustrate the limitations of choice. The first form of imagery you will see is respectively in the first line of the poem, "Two roads diverged in a yellow wood." The color yellow is imagery that appeals to the senses of the reader. The phrase "yellow wood" implies that there is a "golden" opportunity that lies ahead on a path. The sense of such a great or "golden" reward is appealing to the reader. People associate the phrase "golden" with wealth, love, and happiness. From the beginning of the poem, the speaker grabs the reader's attention to keep the reader hanging on every word.

"The next and most obvious usage of imagery is the two roads. "Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, " is

In the 18. The two roads symbolize the pivotal choice that is presented before the speaker. The two roads are two choices, two opportunities, and two lives. The two roads clearly state the dilemma and plot of the poem. The dilemma of choosing a path is set upon the speaker from the very beginning." (Napierkowski, Ruby, 16) The two paths presented seem to be more of a burden than a good thing that will work out well either way.

Next, Frost uses vegetation imagery. In the last line of the first stanza, "to where it bent down I the undergrowth," can, of course simply mean that the paths are old. The "undergrowth" can represent all the dreams and aspirations in life that people have lost or failed to discover. The "undergrowth" for one path can be opposite of the other path. One paths "undergrowth" can be all the productive and enjoyable things people have chosen in life. The other paths "undergrowth" can be all the wrong decisions people have made that led to a less desirable life. It is up to the speaker to choose what kind of "undergrowth" he wants.

Another form of vegetation imagery that appears in the poem is in line eight, "because it was grassy and wanted wear." A "grassy" path can mean that a certain way of life will flourish, be healthy, and prosperous in its environment, much like the young growth of the grass. Just as the right amount of sunlight and water feeds the grass and gives it life the right decision feeds the life of others, enabling them to grow strong and healthy. The speaker of the poem will have to make a decision that will forever change his life.

"Frost implies a certain tone to illustrate his theme of the limitations of choice. The first two stanzas imply a tone of regret. In lines 14 and 15, "Yet knowing how way leads on to way/I doubted if I should ever go back," gives the reader the feeling that the speaker knows what his choice will ultimately be and his decision may not exactly be the best. In lines 16 and 17, "I shall be telling this with a sigh/Somewhere ages and ages hence," shows that the speaker will look back on his decision and have doubts. The word "sigh" indicates that the speaker is regretful.

In the second half of the poem, Frost uses a tone of acceptance. In lines six and seven, "Then took the other, just as fair/And having perhaps the better claim," is talking about why the speaker will choose the "road not taken." The speaker is trying to justify his decision. At this point in the poem the speaker has accepted his choice. He has come to terms with him facing two paths, he then chooses one, and every thing will work out in the end." (Napierkowski, Ruby, 16)

"Frost also uses rhyming patterns to illustrate his theme of the limitations of choice. The poem is written in a rhyme scheme called abaab, which is when the first line in each stanza rhymes with the third and the fourth lines. Then the second line rhymes with the fifth line. In the first stanza the first rhymes wood, stood, and could represent the main and perhaps the most important steps throughout the poem." (Napierkowski, Ruby, 17) Wood represents when the speaker's eyes first com upon the two paths in the woods. The speaker is now face to face with his dilemma. When stood is presented in the poem it illustrates the time that the speaker is taking before continuing his journey.

Could represent the question at hand. What road does the speaker follow? Both stood and could combined represents the final decision.

In the second stanza, fair, wear, and there all rhyme together. The other rhyming pair is claim and same. Fair is presented in the poem when the speaker states, "then took the other, just as fair." It seems the more he thinks about what path to follow, the more confuses he gets. The decision gets harder and harder to make with every thought. "Because it was grassy and wanted wear," indicated that more people have chosen one path over the other. Wear means the path wanted to please people and possibly make their dreams come true. "Claim and same is when the speaker is contradicting himself. In line seven and ten he says, "having perhaps the better claim/Had worn them really the same." One path cannot have the better claim if they have worn equally. This shows that the speaker is having difficulty deciding which path would be best." (French 0)

Frost also uses rhyming patterns in the third stanza. In the third stanza, lay, day, and way all rhyme together. Lay is in the poem when the speaker ways that both paths lay equal. As much as two paths lay in the woods, decisions lay within our lives. Also in the third stanza, black and back rhyme. Black signifies how hard, cold, and dark life can be when presented with a tough decision. Back is because he may want to go back but he knows he cannot.

The fourth stanza also has rhyming words such as sigh, I, and by. Sigh, I, and by is said by the speaker when he is telling the reader what his final decision will be. He says, "sigh" because he is regretful, and may be unhappy. He states "I" because it is him

and only him who can make such a decision. And, "by" because he "took the road less traveled by." Another rhyme in the fourth stanza is hence and difference. "Hence along with difference represents when he is thinking about being years into the future and that he will be happy regardless and would not change anything. This is illustrated by the line, "and that has made all the difference." (Napierkowski, Ruby, 16)

In "The Road Not Taken," Robert Frost uses imagery, tone, and rhyming patterns to illustrate his theme of the limitations of choice. "The dissonance or state of disturbance the human mind experiences when faces with opposing or contradictory cognitions. In the poem what bothers the persona's mind is the possibility of the "road not taken" proving to be the better one. The poem represents the classic choice of a moment and a lifetime. Frost is playing the role of everyman as he spoofs man's tendency to make a choice between two equal imperatives and to praise his choice later as having made all the difference." (Mohan)

Water Lilies a painting by Claude Monet

Claude Monets painting are among the most well known and enjoyed works of art.

Order Custom Monet: Water Lilie paper

On display at the Atkins-Nelson art gallery is one of Monets painting titled Water

lilies, which is one of the forty eight painting of the pond. Many of Monets art work

was done in his studio, at his home, with his landscape being the subject.

Monet was born in Paris in1840 and moved to Le Havre when he was a child.

It was there where he produced his first paintings. Monet traveled regularly between the

coast and the city of Paris in order to study, paint and exhibit with other artists.

It was in Monets back yard that the series of forty eight canvases known as Water

lilies was painted. In his paintings he concentrated on the enlarged pond with its

floating pads and blossoms set in many clusters against the reflections of trees and the

sky. The lily pads and blossoms are softly and gently implied rather then clear. Blurred

in such a way to leave yourself to imagine, and to see the beauty that welds them all

together.

When evaluating this painting keeping in mind only the painting itself (formal

criticism). I would have to say it is a good painting, very interesting in the way light,

shadows, and reflection are produced in this painting. Evaluating with contextual

criticism, my opinion would still be the same, keeping in mind the other forty seven

Water lilies painting I have seen in books makes the painting even more interesting,

even more beautiful. I enjoy nature paintings, especially with water, such as ponds, and

streams. I believe that in this particular painting time period would not matter as much,

nature relatively stays the same.

Monets palette tended warm and cool colors . The painting Water Lilies had

more pastel light colors, such as greens, pinks, grays, blues, and violet. Monet has a very

distinctive brush stroke his style of painting is not formed of lines but more of light

strokes, and blurred images. The emphasis was on the importance of light as the

describer of the objects and light as the real subject of the picture. The painting gives

a certain calmness, and relaxation to them. The painting were done outside on the

site at all times of the day, so all the effects of light could be studied and translated

into paint on the canvas.

At the end of the water lily pond Monet built a wooden bridge in the Japanese

style. Between 18 and 100 he used this bridge as the subject of his first series of

water lily painting, Placing it symmetrically across the middle of the canvas. Putting the

bridge behind him Monet had started to focus his painting on the surface of the water,

painting little but the flowers and leaves in the water.

Water lilies is an oil painting, which happens to be one of the most popular

painting media. Oil paint offers many different color to work with, such as the

contrasting cool blues and greens with pink and orange in the pond.

The painting of water lilies to me is a excellent express of light and shadows of

nature. I believe the painting are extremely beautiful, and fun to look at. The painting

can almost take you away to that very place, very soothing, not dramatic bright colors.

Claude Monet was an phenomenal artist of his time. He painted many wonderful

nature/water scenes. His art is recognized through out the world. He was considered to

be extremely gifted on canvas. All his work has a very distinct style. Im glad I was able

to write a paper on an artist that I enjoy very much.

Although Claude Monet had many struggles in his life, such as losing his wife and

son, financial problems, and his health, his passion for art and nature kept him alive. He

could paint light and reflection very vividly I think that in his painting he did a great

job rending his ideas, with the shadows of the trees and the blossoms. Monet is one of

my all time favorite artists, I really enjoy the painting of the pond and landscape that he

truly adored and painted many times. The brilliant use of blue and green he uses for the

water is awesome. Claude Monet is truly a wonderful artist.

As I hung up the phone with my friend Emily I could barely contain my excitement. Reluctantly my mother had agreed that she could come over for a few hours. Looking back I guess watching two 11 year-old girls was somewhat of a job. Her mom was going to drop her off at my house in about an hour so that we could swim in my pool. I wish that had been what I would always remember about that day, but it wasn't.

I hurriedly began cleaning up my room and making up my bed. This was not because I wanted to, but instead because it was part of the bargain I had made with my mother. I ran and put on my bathing suit grinning from ear to ear in anticipation of the hours of fun I was sure to have later that day. It was still somewhat cold and slightly damp from when I had taken it off the night before and laid it on the side of the bathtub to dry. I heard my mother yell from the kitchen and ask me what flavor of Kool-aid I would like to have. I of course chose grape, it was my favorite. No more than minutes had passed and there was a knock at the door. With no doubt in my mind that it was Emily, I ran like lightening and threw the door open. To my surprise it was our neighbor, Mr. Parker. With a somewhat disappointed look on my face I said hello and yelled for my mother to come to the door. I was completely uninterested in what he had to say, I was sure that it would either be about some tomato plants he had promised my father earlier that week or about something equally as boring. I turned around and sat on the

bench in our hallway as my mother walked toward the door. Before she had even gotten there, being a bit more perceptive than my 11 year-old preoccupied mind was at the time, she could tell something was wrong. He said that while he was out working in his garden just now he could hear some sirens just over the hill where my aunt Nancy lived, and that we might want to go over and see if there was a problem. My aunt Nancy was my father's sister. She had lived just over the hill behind our house on the next street all of my life. She had three daughters who were already grown and married, her husband had been gone since I was years old, he died of cancer. She was 5 years old and had had asthma along with terrible breathing problems since she was a small girl. My mother ran out the door and into our yard. I quickly peeled the damp neon green spandex of my bathing suit from the hallway bench, and I followed her very closely. We began to walk around the back of our house and all of a sudden we could hear them. We could hear the sirens of an ambulance just over the hill. Then it was like we were in a race to get there, but in slow motion. We were both running as hard as we could. As we got closer to the hill, we could hear someone screaming. It was a woman's voice, but it wasn't Aunt Nancy. We could barely hear it. It seemed like we had been running for days by the time we finally reached the point that we could just barely see over the hill. There it was. The ambulance was in front of Aunt Nancy's house. My mother, not sure of what was happening, told me to stay right where I was and not to go into the yard. Despite the fact that I wanted so desperately to know if Aunt Nancy was hurt, I was relieved. I was partially terrified of what I would find on the other side of that massive structure that was parked right by the front door of her house. By this time the screams that seemed a

million miles away at first were so loud that it made my blood run cold. My mother walked around the side of the ambulance. Looking back she must have been just as frightened as I was. No sooner than she was out of my sight, I heard her yell "oh no". The screaming was now compounded by my mother sobbing. Hearing my normally calm and level headed mother scream out like this scared me terribly. I could not take it anymore. I had to know what was happening. I began to walk slowly down the hill and across the street. I went completely unnoticed by the police and paramedics that were standing around. As I came around the front of the ambulance I saw Aunt Nancy's daughter Anita, who was quite obviously about eight months pregnant with her first child, on her knees still screaming and my mother standing beside of her crying and trying to calm her down. I began to run toward them while my mind was racing through all of the possibilities. When I got to them my mother looked at me and said that Anita had come over to see her this morning and she did not answer the door. Anita used her key to get in and found Aunt Nancy on the bathroom floor, dead. I was completely shocked. My mind went blank. This couldn't be real.

Since I had never experienced a loss like this I was unsure about how to react. The concepts of life and death had just hit me hard. I felt crushed by a feeling of sadness. My mind immediately raced to the thought of how to tell my father, he had been at work that day but was due home any minute. As Anita began to calm down a little bit my mother told me to run back to the house and call my grandmother. I just stood there. I could not believe that she wanted me to do this. I didn't know what to say to her or how to say it. Despite this feeling I turned almost robotically toward home and ran; carrying

the burden of this news the whole way. As I topped the hill separating our house from Aunt Nancy's I saw something that I prayed I wouldn't. It was my father. He was walking down the sidewalk leading to our front door, totally unaware of what I was about to tell him. I just stopped completely and stood still. I wanted to disappear. Not only did I have to tell my grandma, but now my father also. Just then he looked up at me and smiled. I knew that there was no way out now, I had to tell him.

As I slowly approached my father he could tell that something was wrong. He didn't say a word. Then from out of nowhere, I began sobbing uncontrollably. Unleashing the burden that I had inside me through a surge of tears. I tried so hard to be eloquent and not just blurt it out. I wanted to do this right, but I just couldn't find the words. I started yelling "Aunt Nancy's dead, Aunt Nancy's dead"! His face turned as pale as I could ever remember seeing anyone's. He began to run, dropping everything in his hands. I can still remember the sound of the books he had been carrying falling to the pavement in a heap. I wiped the tears from my face and bent over to pick up the books. I walked into the house and called my grandmother. Finding the words to tell her had been so important to me just minutes before, but to this day I can't even remember what I said to her. The days that followed were full of well wishers, great aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends of my aunt's that she hadn't seen in years. They each came to pay their last respects, sharing memories and remembering when they were children. The funeral was nice I suppose. There were flowers everywhere and beautiful music. I remember looking over at my father. The normally happy expression on his face now seemed aged, older somehow. I think this is how we all felt.

We all experience things as a child that gradually contribute to the loss of our innocence, but I didn't feel like it happened this way for me. By loosing my aunt I lost a part of myself, but I guess this loss of innocence and a simplistic point of view toward the world was inevitable. Through out life I've learned that absolutely nothing is forever and that today may be our last, so enjoy it. I love you Aunt Nancy and goodbye.

The financial statements of a business are used to provide investors and creditors with information about the status of the business, set performance targets and impose restrictions on the managers of the firm as well as provide an easier method for financial planning. The financial statements consist of the income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows.

The two main users of businesses financial statements are the investors and creditors. The information they require depends on their objectives. The information supplied by the statements aims to provide the creditors and investors with crucial information pertaining to the business while limiting the amount of information available to their competitors. Future creditors and investors need the financial statements to be provided accurately so that they are aware of the type of venture they are entering into. The competitors on the other hand will be looking for information that will aid them in rising above the concerned business relating to profits, technology and so on.

The investors of a business require information pertaining to the future cash flows of the business. Investors are mainly involved with the valuing of the business, as they need to know the fate of their equity investments. The profitability, risk and cash generating ability of the concerned business will provide the necessary information. The creditors are interested in the risks associated with the firm such as liquidity and solvency. These are expressed as ratios, debt-equity and working capital. The methods by which contracts are written provide the third type of information that is sought after in the financial statements as this directly affects investors and creditors. Future creditors and investors need to have an idea as to how the business writes up contracts relating to their designated fields. This will help in their final decision concerning their future involvement with the business.

Blakes selection of poetry, 'Songs of Innocence and of Experience' includes a variety of contrasting paired poems. In this essay I will be comparing 'The Lamb' and 'The Tiger'. These poems, like the majority of the other poems in the book, contain themes of religion, and creation.

'The Lamb' appears to be rather childish and simple, 'Little lamb who made thee?', however when you explore the poem in more depth, it is complex. The poem has high lyrical value, due to the repetitions, so Blake may have intended it to be set to music. In the poem the lamb suggests innocence, and joy, Blake expresses his feeling by using vocabulary such as, 'life', 'delight', 'bright', and 'tender'. A lamb needs protecting, as it is, 'mild' and 'meek' ('The Shepherd' a poem later in the collection, expresses the feelings of Christ protecting the innocence of his flock). The poem has high religious value, as in this poem Blake appears to write as an orthodox Christian. God, who as creator made the lamb, is also Jesus, who sacrificed his life to save mankind. Sheep today share this role, as at pass-over, Jewish people sacrifice a lamb. This comes from the story of Moses, the Israelites would not allow Jewish to be free, so God told Moses that every Islam family must sacrifice a lamb, and paint its blood over their door. An angel sent by God, killed the first born son from every family without the blood painted on their door. This persuaded the Israelites to let the Jews go. This also refers to the vulnerability of the lamb. The poem is optimistic, with a sense of wonder. The lamb claims that he is a creation by God, 'He is called by thy name, For he calls himself a lamb'.

'The Tiger' is a popular childrens poem which leaves an impact on readers. The rhythm seizes attention immediately with the exciting and empathetic stress on the first of each pair of syllables, 'Tiger, Tiger, Burning bright'. The alliteration and the punctuation makes the poem powerful from the beginning. The poem has the rhythm of the hammer and spears, climaxing in the fourth verse, 'What the hammer? What the chain?', this shows the rage and the heat of God creating the tiger. It is described as a battle, 'What the anvil? What dread grasp, dare its deadly terrors clasp?', which is effective imagery as we are forced to imagine God creating an immensely powerful creature. 'Did he who made the lamb make thee?', is direct juxtaposition, as the tiger is asking how can God make such an innocent mild lamb, and a fierce, strong tiger. Blake made etching to go with every poem in the series, the etching for 'The Tiger', is rather amusing as it visually looks like a soft calm tiger, this contrasts with the view of the poem, as the tiger Blake etched does not look as intense and powerful as suggested in the poem. This makes readers question Blakes experience of tigers.

One thing that may strike readers when reading the selection of Blakes poems, is the apparent contrast between the simplicity of the songs of innocence, and the complexity of the other poems which provoke explanations from the critics. The two poems share similar questioning and repetitions. This is about all the share as everything else is in complete contrast, like the power of the tiger, compared to the innocence of the lamb. Both poems express Blakes views on creation. I feel he believes lamb were created in heaven, whereas tigers were created in hell. It is clear that the lamb is not a simple animal, as it is linked with Jesus as the lamb of God, and as creator. It can be seen that the question in 'The Tiger', 'Did he who made the lamb make thee?', may not simply

I had a lump show up on my neck overnite in the month of March 00 and everything in my life was about to change (although I didnt realize it at the time). I went to see my primary care doctor and he diagnosed paratitis (mumps) and gave me a week of antibiotics. This was a relief to me because the lump felt hard and rubbery to me which I had read was an indication of cancer. After two weeks however the lump wasnt getting any better and I was getting scared, but I decided to refill the prescription and not seek another opinion (fearing the worst I guess). It was that next weekend when the lump went to the size of a baseball and became extremely painful. I went to the emergency room and it was so packed I waited for hours before seeing a doctor who gave me tylenol and sent me home with the name of a ENT doctor. My wife brought me to the ENT the next day and he put me in the hospital with a diagnosis of an abscess. The head of infectious deseases and the ENT worked on me with steriods and antibiotics and it worked somewhat as the lump went down the pain was better. The ENT operated on my neck and tried to drain the area, but he said he didnt really see anything. After a week they sent me home for Easter and it got worse again over the weekend. I went in to the ENT again on Monday and he scheduled another surgery for the following day. I was given assurances through out this ordeal that it wasnt cancer, but my gut was telling me this didnt make sense. The surgery was performed on that Tuesday and when I woke up in recovery my wife was there and told me they had found lymphoma. Believe it or not I was almost relieved to know the truth and was ready to fight it. I was more worried about how my wife and kids would deal with it. My wife, it turned out, was much stronger than I ever realized and was my biggest support. The outpouring of prayers and messages was also very heartwarming, but my odyssey had just begun. I started treatment with an oncologist that my ENT recommended in April. He told me that it was stage one and a fast growing cancer that they had a good success rate for cure (5%). I went throught sessions of chemotherapy, which made me somewhat sick and rundown and 5 treatments of radiation to my neck. I continued working throughout most of this time and thought everything was going great when I started having some lower back pain. This got to the point that I was having trouble staying at work all day and even sleeping was difficult. My radiation oncologist ordered a CAT scan for my back and they told me I had a slipped disk. I was given pain medication for this and I continued with my treatment. My wife however noticed that I was not myself, I was irritable and argumentative. When I missed my last treatment and didnt even know I had one is when she insisted I go to the doctor again. My parents were here throughout this episode as well because it was around my daughters th birthday. I actually dont have any memory of this time because of what I was battling, but people close to me knew there was something wrong as my weight had ballooned up to my heaviest and then I lost 0 pounds in a week. It turned out after many scans and tests that my cancer had moved into my brain and I had a tumor that was 5cm by 4cm. After so many stumbles my wife and family made the decision to move me to the local cancer center where we had meet a doctor previously on a nd opinion. She was/is a great person who I believe saved my life. The cancer center was full so it took several days to get me in and moving toward a treatment plan. This time my doctors confirmed my diagnosis with Sloane-Kettering and the Mayo clinic and a plan was put in motion. I had surgery on my head to put in a resevoir to deliver medicine to my tumor (the tumor was not operable). The only alternative was radiation, but was not preferred. I was told later that I was only the 10th case in the nation where this had happened (based on my age and stage of cancer). This was a really strange period in my life as I dont have any real memories. My whole existence was out-of-body, like I was watching someone else going through tests and procedures, but it wasnt me. It was like a dream that I couldnt wake up from. The day I remember finally coming out of the haze was when my doctor came to me and said, I have great news for you...your brain tumor has shrunk 50 percent after just one treatment! I looked at her and then my wife and family and said, I have a brain tumor? You might think that it would have been shocking to me, but it wasnt for some reason. I think that since I have no memory of the negative diagnosis that it has helped me because by the time I knew what was going on I was already getting better. I had a total of 5 chemotherapy treatments, including my brain and all over body and after the rd treatment my tumor had shrunk by 0 percent. I was told by my doctor that I will always have some residue of the tumor showing up on MRIs, but that this is common and they believe the tumor is gone. I finished this round of treatments in the October timeframe and was told I need to have a bone-marrow transplant for my best odds at preventing a re-occurance. I was lucky in that my bone-marrow was clean of cancer so I was able to use my own stem cells for transplant. It took days to collect enough stem cells for the transplant and I went in the beginning of December 0. I was determined to fight through all the side effects the doctors predicted for me (weight loss, sickness, mouth sores), but they were correct about everything and I spent Christmas in the hospital after receiving full body radiation and heavy chemotherapy. I actually lost another 0 pounds to make a total loss of 70-75 pounds throughout the process. Everyone now tells me how great I look and I always tell them that while the regimen I went through is effective for weight loss I wouldnt recommend it. I finally came home after a month in the hospital and was now on long term disability from work (not having worked for 6 months). I was told I had anywhere from 6 months to a year before I could go back. I was extremely lucky that my company thought enough of me to hold my job until I could come back. They didnt have to do that and I will always appreciate it. After the transplant I had several months of sickness to deal with to re-build my strength (blood transfusions, growth factor shots for my immune system, etc...). I had an additional full body scan months after the transplant and I was still clean. I did have some anxiety attacks as every time I went to see my doctor I would have back pain and wonder if my problems were returning. My doctor prescribed Paxil to help with this and it has actually worked wonders. She also challenged me after months to start doing something with my time and it worked on me as I started increasing my work load around the house. I started feeling better everyday and my strength is gradually coming back. I have recently gone back to work after being off for a year and it has really been great for me to see all the people again. In fact they had a very nice reception for me that more people than I expected came to. My wife and parents both became emotional as I told them about the celebration. It means alot to them because they have seen everything I have gone through. I have now been clean for about 8 months and I believe that I have beaten the cancer. I have changed much from the experience and believe I am a better person for it. I now try to enjoy everyday as much as possible and cherish my time with my family. I now know that when they say, Life is too short!, it really is true.

Dear Prime Minister of France,

The letter you are receiving is for an attempt to prove my innocence and become free again. I am Charles Darnay and the accusations that have been placed on me are wrongfully distributed. I will soon be decapitated by La Guillotine for doing something that I did not do. I have been accused of giving information to the British government about France, and emigration. I have also been accused of being an aristocrat, which I voluntarily gave up the title of Marquis. My accusers were Madame and Monsieur Defarge and Dr. Manette. I hope this letter will help you decide that the crackpot French government has wrongfully accused me. I hope this letter will ensure my freedom.

As explained before, your government has falsely accused me of multiple crimes. Firstly, I am accused of being an emigrant. I was living in France and I had to leave, for my uncle had died in England and I had to go to his funeral and receive his inheritances. I received a letter in the mail from a close family friend who had been imprisoned in the Bastille. I had to go back to France so I could be a witness for his trail and help become free. When I entered they asked me.

Act IV

Order Custom Essay on letter to france

In the beginning of Act IV Paris is in the friar's cell making wedding arrangements when Juliet walks in wishing to talk to the Friar. The Friar has Paris leave and Juliet speaks of how she doesn't want to marry Paris. The friar developed a plan and she is to drink a potion that will make her sleep for 4 hours making her seem dead. She should go to her father and plead for mercy. She does so and he reschedules the wedding one day sooner. Once Juliet was alone she took the potion. When the others came to get her she is seemingly "dead". When the nurse told the others they all rushed to her room, and they weeped in his or her own way. All the food for the wedding would be used for the funeral. What the Friar doesn't know is that the letters that he sent to Romeo didn't reach him. The letters told him that Juliet took a potion to make her seem dead. He didn't get them.
